Velda Stovall Prince
Funeral services for Mrs. Velda Stovall Prince, 87, of Carthage will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 1996 at Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel in Carthage. The Rev. Chris Prince and Rev. James L. Stovall will officiate. Interment will follow in Forest Park Cemetery in Shreveport, La. Arrangements will be made under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Mrs. Prince died Monday, April 8 in Shreveport.
Born on April 23, 1908 in Dodson, La., she was the daughter of Louella Gaar and Dennis Mackey Stovall. Mrs. Prince had been a resident of Carthage since 1962 after moving here from Shreveport. She was a member of the Murvaul Methodist Church and the owner and manager of Prince Realty in Shreveport from 1949 to 1964. Mrs. Prince was preceded in death by her husband, John Curtis Prince, who died in 1979.
Mrs. Prince is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Paul M. and Karen Prince of Carthage, and John C. (Chuck) II and Carol Ann Prince of Gary; brother and sister-in-law, Rev. James L. and Alice Stovall of Baton Rouge, La.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Maurine Stovall McCarty, Sarah Stovall and James R. Fouts, Carlotta Stovall and R.A. Ferguson, and Evelyn Stovall Finuf, all of Shreveport; sisters-in-law, Ada Stovall and Audie Stovall, both of Carthage, and Kathryn Stovall and Lloyd Smith of Mineola; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were members of the Prince and Stovall families.
