Velen H. Gaar
Velen (Huckaby) Gaar, age 89, of Dodson, La., passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2004, at the Healthsouth Rehabilitation Hospital in Winnfield, La. She was a member of New Hope Methodist Church and worked in the Dodson High School Cafeteria for more than thirty years.
She was the daughter of the late Bryant Huckaby and the late Minnie (Leonard) Huckaby.
She is survived by her
One Son, Dennis B. Gaar of Dodson, La.;
One Sister, Clara Wrist of Sarepta, La.;
Two Brothers, Red Huckaby of Weston, La. Crawford Huckaby of Hodge, La.;
Four grandchildren Carl B. Gaar of La Rose, La. Sarah Gaar Jones of Dodson, La. Jerry L. Gaar of Brandon, Ms. Gary G. Gaar of Dodson, La.;
Seven great-grandchildren.
Services are under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield, La., where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM Wednesday, October 6, 2004 and from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM Thursday, October 7, 2004. Funeral services will be at Southern Funeral Home Chapel at 10:30 AM Thursday, October 7, 2004 , with Rev. Carl B. Gaar officiating. Interment will be at New Hope Cemetery in Dodson, La.
