MRS. VELMA BRANCH WORKS

Mrs. Velma Branch Works, 40, died at her residence 210 Wheelis Street in West Monroe yesterday at 3:20 p.m. after a long illness.

She is survived by her husband, Walter H. Works, West Monroe; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Virginia Rawls, Shirley Ann Works, and Doris Nell Works all of West Monroe; her mother, Mrs. Alice Griggs, West Monroe; three brothers, L. A. Branch, West Monroe; O. G. Branch, Kenneth, Missouri; H. A. Branch, St. Mary's, Georgia; one sister, Mrs. Alferd [sic Alfred] Roberts, West Monroe; one half-brother, Thomas R. Griggs, West Monroe; five step-sisters, Mrs. A. R. Robinson, Mrs. L. A. Branch, Mrs. S. A. Hearne, Mrs. R. H. Chatham, all of West Monroe; Mrs. J. D. Long, Columbia; one step-brother, J. M. Griggs, West Monroe, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Bob Branch, W. J. Robinson, James Hearn, Billie Long, Donald Chatham, and Grady Works.

Funeral services will be held in the Brownville Methodist Church at 5 p.m. today with Rev. B. P. Durbin officiating, assisted by Rev. Isaac Patton. Burial will follow in the Hasley Cemetery under the direction of the Mulhearn Funeral Home.
