Velma Jean Starks

Services for Velma Jean Tidwell Starks will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville. Burial will be in Lincecum Cemetery, Georgetown.

Starks, 69, of Bentley died Tuesday, May 8, 2001, in her residence.

She retired from Central Louisiana State Hospital and was employed by Wal-Mart, having worked in the garden center. She was a member of Bentley Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Starks.

Survivors include one son, James E. Starks Jr. of Pollock; one brother, David Tidwell of Alvin, Texas; two sisters, Irene Peck of Bossier City and Inez Jones of Houston; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Don Arnold, James Travis Starks, Terry Bishop, Howard Brunson, Glyn Miller and Aaron Atwood.

Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until time of services Friday in the funeral home.
