Velma Olive (Yule) Blasingame, age 89, of Jena, Louisiana was received into Heaven on Thursday, June 19, 2014.

She was born in LaSalle Parish to the union of James Wilson and Nancy Leonie (Bignar) Yule on Wednesday, November 12, 1924.

Mrs. Blasingame was preceded in death by her parents, husband William “Windy” Harvey Blasingame Sr., and two sons James Carter “Bo” Blasingame and Don Roy Blasingame.

Those left to love and miss her are one daughter, Harvie L.(Blasingame) Holtan and husband Roger of Sandy, UT; four sons, William H. Blasingame, Jr. and wife Glenda of Trout, LA., Travis Yule Blasingame of Jena, LA., Micah David Blasingame of Jena, LA., and Daniel Lee Blasingame & wife Wanda of Jena, LA.; two sisters, Marie Meridith of Conroe, TX., Minnie Mettchette & husband Russell of Ball, LA.; one brother, James Yule & wife Remie of Nebo, LA.; fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home of Jena. Services will be in the Chapel of Kinner & Stevens at 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 21, 2014, with Rev. William Harvey Blasingame, Jr., and Rev. Mellanie Hulsey officiating. Mrs. Blasingame will be laid to rest in the Nebo Cemetery, Nebo, LA.

Honored to serve as pallbearers, William Harvey Blasingame, Jr., Travis Yule Blasingame, Micah David Blasingame, II, Daniel Lee Blasingame, Will Blasingame, and James Carter Blasingame, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Micah David Blasingame, Sr., Daniel L.
