MRS. VELMA P. BARRETT

Mrs. Velma Purvis Barrett, 71, of Rt. 1, Box 171, Magee died July 15 at Magee General Hospital following a brief illness.

She was a native of Simpson County and a housewife.

Services were conducted from Beulah Baptist Church where she was a member at 10 a.m. July 17 with Rev. M.L. Wallace officiating. Mims Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. was in charge of arrangements and burial was in the church cemetery.

Survivors include a step-son, Sherman Barrett of Collins; two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Fortenberry of Magee and Mrs. Lela Dukes of Jackson; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
