Vera Bell Yates
Funeral for Vera Yates, 96, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel with the Rev. R.W. King of Forest Baptist Church, Forest, officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Mrs. Yates died Sept. 18, 2007, in Moss Point, Miss.
Born July 27, 1911, in Nacogdoches County, she was the daughter of Patrick and Rosa Spradley. She was married to Cecil Allen Yates, and he preceded her in death. She was a Baptist and had been a seamstress for Mize Sewing Factory.
Survivors include sons, Jacob Bruce Yates of San Antonio and Lyndon Yates of Lufkin; daughters, Eloise Fore of Telion, S.C., and Willie Kay Bridwell of Gulfport, Miss.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today. Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors.
