July 24, 1937 - January 12, 2019

Mrs. Vera Robertson - Abrams, 81 of Dodson, La. passed away at Autumn Leaves Nursing Home in Winnfield on Saturday, January 12, 2019. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Southern Funeral Home, Winnfield on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 2:00 pm with Revs. Ed Smith, Jessie Henderson and Bobby Bates officiating. Interment will follow in Harmony Grove Cemetery in Dodson.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 14th from 5:00pm until 8:00pm and on Tuesday from 10:00am till service time.

Mrs. Robertson - Abrams was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church. Previously attended Harmony Grove Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Sikes High School in 1955. Received a B.A. degree in education at NSU and a Masters degree in education from Troy State. She had taught school at Caldwell Parish, Winnfield Middle School and various schools in Georgia. Mrs. Robertson - Abrams was a pastor's wife for 54 years.

Vera was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil McCarty and Mottice Creel McCarty; husband, Lee Mack Robertson; daughter, Cecile Jeanenne Robertson; two sisters, Jeanette Greene and Betty Jo Roberts.

Those left to cherish her memory are her current husband, Austin Abrams; three children, Rickie Steven Robertson, Ginger Lee Robertson Liles (Charles), and Randall Robertson (Belinda); brother, W.C. McCarty, sister, Dianne McPhearson; six grandchildren, Rick Robertson, Jr., Trent Robertson, Kyle Robertson, Mac Daniel Robertson, Kristen Baudoin and Allie Bustin.; twelve great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Rick Robertson, Jr., Trent Robertson, Clay Robertson, Christopher Robertson, Tyler Hennigan and Kyle Robertson.
