Vera Self Jopling

LEESVILLE -- Funeral services for Vera Self Jopling, 66, of Anacoco will be at 2 p.m. today, Aug. 21, in Hixson Funeral Home. The Revs. Alan Stroud and Wesley Harralson will officiate. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery in Anacoco. Visitation is from 8 a.m.

Mrs. Jopling died Thursday, Aug. 19, 1999, in an Alexandria hospital. She was a native of Colfax and had lived in the Vernon Parish area for most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Beach Grove Congregational Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, William F. Jopling of Anacoco; two sons, Roger Dale Self of Alexandria and Timothy J. Self of Fort Ogelthorp, Ga.; two stepsons, Wade Jopling of DeRidder and Randy Jopling of Merryville; four daughters, Debra Mae Landry and Helen Marie Hunt, both of Anacoco, Gwendolyn Ann Manning of Fort Ogelthorp and Alida Chance of Hornbeck; one stepdaughter, Gayla Johnson of Port Allen; two brothers, Elton Fox of Pasadena, Texas, and Alton Fox of Leesville; five sisters, Nellie Jane Nix, Vonnee Kay and Edie Mitchell, all of Leesville, Viola Morris of Lake Charles and Varnie Harralson of Anacoco; 12 grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
