Mrs. Powers

Funeral services for Mrs. Lum A. (Vera Mae) Powers, 65, of 206 Edge St., Bryan, were to be held at 2 p.m. today at the Callaway-Jones Funeral chapel, the Revs. Thomas Haygood, pastor of Steep Hollow Baptist Church, and David Rowland, associate pastor, First Baptist Church of College Station, officiating.

Burial was in Steep Hollow Cemetery.

Mrs. Powers, a lifetime resident of Brazos County, was born April 13, 1906. She died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was a member of the Steep Hollow Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Dan Gibson of Fort Worth and Mrs. Robert Kilmer of Houston; one brother, John T. Smith of Bryan; four sisters, Mrs. W.S. Reed and Mrs. Annie Way, both of Bryan, and Mrs. John C. Powers and Mrs. Earl Arrington, both of Houston; her stepmother, Mrs. Corrie Smith of Bryan, and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Smith, Ray Smith, Nathan Powers, Dalton Arrington, Lawrence Smith and Kenneth Powers.
