CHAPMAN, VERDA POOLE

A native of Enterprise and a resident of Baton Rouge, she went to be with the Lord at 3:05 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003, at Flannery Oaks Guest House. She was 82 and a member of Comite Baptist Church.

Visiting at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday. Visiting in Green-oaks Funeral Chapel from 8 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m. Friday, conducted by the Rev. Dale Phillips. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park.

She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Vance O. Chapman of Baton Rouge; a daughter, Vicky McMillan and husband Murry of Greenwell Springs; three sons, Danny Chapman and wife Margaret of Kingwood, Texas, Ken Chapman and wife Sue of Greenwell Springs, and David Chapman and wife Doris of Rock Hill, S.C.; four sisters, Viva Aarons of Vidalia, Mildred Morvan of Port Sulphur, and Jolene McGuffee and Effie Roark, both of Enterprise; four brothers, David Poole of Athens, Texas, N.J. Poole of Jena, and Herschel and Lindal Poole, both of Enterprise. 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, N.H. and Dessa McVay Poole and a sister, Vivian Hodges.
