SHREVEPORT

Services for Mrs. Verda S. Allen, 78, of 4718 Rightway, will be at 2 p.m. Wed. Jan. 28 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel, Rev. Albert Langley, Pastor of Ingleside Baptist Church, officiating. Burial: Forest Park Cemetery.

She died Tues. Jan. 27, 1981 at Willis-Knighton Medical Center after a short illness.

Mrs. Allen, a native of Winnfield, La., lived most of her life in Shreveport and was a retired PBX Operator at Newspaper Production Co. She was an active member of Ingleside Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, Joel Bryan Allen of Shreveport; one sister, Mrs. Audie Horton of Oak Grove, La.; six brothers, Joel Smith, Chelan, Wash., Howard Smith, Denton Smith and Dennis Smith, all of Bastrop, La., Shelby Smith, Little Rock, Ark., J. T. Smith, Natchez, Miss.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Frank Post, Fred Gault, Bobby Chandler, Mike Penn, Wayne Lindsey, Joey Allen.
