HENDERSON -- Services for Verdie Allen, 78, of Henderson will be 2 p.m. today in Bryan Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Hugh L. Smith officiating.
Burial will be in Gage Cemetery.
Mr. Allen died Friday in a Dallas Hosptial [sic Hospital] after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Allen was born Dec. 1, 1905, in Rusk County. He was a truck driver and a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his sister, Mrs. Evie Flanagan of Henderson and several nieces and nephews.
