VERNON ``BLACKIE'' BLANCHARD

Vernon ``Blackie'' Blanchard, 67, of Old River, went on to his reward Friday 1-7-05. He was born 7-24-1937 in Lambert, Mississippi. He was the Operations Supervisor for Barbers Hill ISD. He was a member of the Christian faith and a loving father and husband.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Sunday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home, with Larry Hope officiating.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Gary Wilson, Jason Wilson, Matthew Wilson, Johnny Johnson, Sr., Johnny Johnson, Jr., and Earl Chain.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Mary Blanchard; and his brother, Joe Blanchard.
He is survived by his wife, Kathie Blanchard; children, Gary L. Wilson and wife Ashley, Jason L. Wilson and wife Tonya, C. Matthew Wilson; granddaughter, Valarie Schnautz,; brother, James Blanchard; sisters, Janie DuPont, and Nancy Pickett; mother-in-law, Jean Holcomb; sister-in-law, Jeanne Cash; brother-in-law & special friend, Johnny Johnson, Sr. and Carolyn Summers.
