Vicky Smith
Services for Mrs. Vicky Smith, 84, of Winnsboro will be held 2pm Saturday November 21, 2009 at New Zion Baptist Church. Revs. Jerry Goodman and Tommy Basco will be officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home.
Mrs. Smith was born on June 30, 1925 in Sikes, LA and passed away on November 19, 2009 at her residence, after a brief illness, surrounded by her family and friends. She was a mother and homemaker, and a member of New Zion Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband John A Smith, her parents Grady and Alice Howell Creel, Step-father Floyd Gibbs, Granddaugther Victoria Jones, Brothers Douglas Ray and Cecil Creel, Sisters Katherine Bixler and Thelma Livingston.
Survivors include her Daughters Jenny Goodman and husband Jerry of Chase, Sue Jones and husband Gerald of Baskin, Vickie Purvis and husband Walter of Chase, Son Glen Ray Smith and wife Lynn of Winnsboro, Sister Joyce Black of Beaufort, South Carolina, Grandchildren Benjamin Purvis, Angelika Camp, Regina Goodman, Charity Day, John A Smith, Andrea Goodman and Nathaniel Jones. Also survived by 7 Great-Grandchildren and a dear friend and beloved neighbor Ethel Carter.
Pallbearers will be Glen Ray Smith, John A Smith, Benjamin Purvis, Nathaniel Jones, John Day, Jr., and Jason Camp.
Visitation will be after 4pm Friday at the church.
