VOLENTINE, VIOLET ALEXANDER
A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a resident of Eunice, she went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, March 18, 2003, in Zachary.
She was born Jan. 25, 1912, in Richard and was a longtime member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church.
She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, S.L. Volentine; two daughters, Alice Pocorello and Jeanette Young; two sons-in-law, Raymond Young and Howard Sigler; 13 grandchildren, Farrell, Ronnie, Lonnie and Pete Pocorello, Tammy Lieux, Allen, Roger, Charles, Mark and Jennifer Sigler, Marlene Fries, Jeff Young and Tommy Lynn Hart; 31 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild; and a nephew, A.J. Douglas.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Marlene Sigler; and a son-in-law, Joseph F. Pocorello Sr.
Visitation at Ardoin's Funeral Home, Eunice, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday. Visitation at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, Richard, from 10 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m. Friday.
