Died Wednesday, July 16, 1986, at Field Memorial Hospital, Centreville, Miss. She was 79, a native and resident of Liberty, Miss.
Visiting at Brown Funeral Home, Liberty, 9 a.m. until religious services at 2 p.m. Thursday, conducted by the Rev. Terry Ellis. Burial in New Hope Cemetery, near Liberty.
Survived by husband, T.C. Cox, Liberty; three daughters, Ione Walsh and Eloise Moore, both of Liberty, and Ercelle Cobb, Baton Rouge; two stepsons, Tom M. Cox, Baton Rouge, and Warren Adrain Cox, Oregon; four sisters, Nell Oliver and Nadine Guillory, both of Bunkie, Audria McLain, Jackson, Miss., and Lucille Robinson, Baytown, Texas; two brothers, Barney Sterling, Liberty, and Carl Sterling, Philadelphia, Miss.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Berwick Baptist Church.

LAST RITES FOR VIRGIE COX
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday,
July 17, 1986 from Brown Funeral Home Chapel in
Liberty for Virgie Cox, 79, of Route 5, Liberty.
Rev. Terry Ellis and Rev. Frank Traylor officiated.
Mrs. Cox died Wednesday, July 16, 1986 at Field
Memorial Hospital in Centreville, following a
lengthy illness. She was born July 2, 1907 in Amite
County the daughter of J. F. Sterling and Carrie
Whittington, both deceased. She was a housewife
and a member of Berwick Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, T. C. Cox,
Liberty; three daughters: Ione Walsh, Liberty,
Eloise Moore, Liberty and Ercelle Cobb, Baton
Rouge, La.; two step-sons: Tom M. Cox, Baton
Rouge, La. and Warren Adrian Cox, Oregon; four
sisters: Nell Oliver, Bunkie, La., Nadine Guillory,
Bunkie, La., Audria McLain, Jackson and Lucille
Robinson, Baytown, Texas; two brothers: Barney
Sterling, Liberty and Carl Sterling, Philadelphia,
Miss.; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Interment was in the New Hope Cemetery with
Brown Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
