Virgil “Boo” Whitstine

Funeral services for Mr. Virgil “Boo” Whitstine age 67 of Columbia were held Friday, January 13th, 2 p.m. at the Chapel [of] Riser & Son with the Rev. Jim Richmond officiating. Burial followed in the Columbia Hill Cemetery under the direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Columbia. Mr. Whitstine died January 11th at the Citizens Medical Center after a long illness. Mr. Whitstine was a retired farmer and a member of Sandy Bayou Baptist Church.

Survivors include wife, Mrs. Cecil McLain Whitstine, Columbia; 2 sons, James Whitstine and Mark Whitstine both of Columbia; 4 daughters, Mrs. Eyvonne McCarty, West Monroe; Mrs. Georgia Couvion, Grayson; Mrs. Dianne Purdy, West Monroe; Mrs. Donna Evans, Columbia; 2 brothers, George Whitstine, Campti, La.; Mr. Jim Whitstine, Florida, La. 1 sister, Mrs. Vera Lawson, West Monroe. Host of Grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Hoot Reitzell, Herman Wyles, J. D. McLain, Bill Curry, Rev. Gordon Winslow and Gerald Purdy.
