Virginia McConathy

SHREVEPORT, LA - Services for Virginia McConathy, 96, will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 31, 2000, at First Presbyterian Church Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Bryan McDowell, pastor of The First Presbyterian Church of Shreveport. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Ruston, LA.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday, October 30, 2000 at Rose-Neath Marshall St. Chapel.

Mrs. McConathy passed away Sunday, October 29, 2000.

Virginia was born in Ruston, LA to Alta Jones Grambling and Prentis Graves Grambling. A homemaker, she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a faithful member of the church choir for many years.

Mrs. McConathy was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Wel[l]ington McConathy; brother, Prentiss Raves [sic Graves] Grambling; and sister, Marth[a] G. Busey.

She is survived by daughter, Alta Jean Weyland and husband, James; grandson, James McConathy Weyland, all of Houston, TX; granddaughter, Helen Virginia Weyland of Tulsa, OK; great grandchildren, James Stephen Moehlman and Kathleen McConathy Weyland; and a host of nieces and nephews.
