VIVA ALLOYCE WHITTON
JULY 19, 1920 - JULY 11, 2015

Viva Alloyce Gray Whitton, age 94 of Clute, TX was born in a small frame house in the Enterprise community on July 19, 1920 to George Steven Gray and Millie Lucinda Oliver Gray about 5 miles from Tenaha, Texas . She married the love of her life, Emmett Cecil Whitton on October 1, 1938. We were absolutely blessed with her presence for 94 years. The family had planned a surprise birthday party for her next Saturday, July 18th to celebrate her 95th birthday. However, God had other plans and she is now spending her birthday with her Lord and Savior. Although she loved her family dearly, she had longed for some time to go ‘home’. God answered her hearts cry on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at her residence in Woodlake Nursing Center with her son by her side.

Viva is survived by her son, Beamon D. Whitton (Towanda), daughter-in-law, Janet Daugherty (David), grandchildren, Darrell (Beverly), Darron (Shannon), Russell (Sherry), Patty Wyatt (Donnie), Cecil (Leah), Daniel, Stephen, Brenda Smith (Richard), Cindy Ormsby, Robby Combest (Feryline), 19 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and numerous family, extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her dad, George Steven Gray, mom, Millie Lucinda Oliver, husband, Emmett Cecil Whitton, son, Pastor Jerry Dale Whitton, brothers, Henry Floyd Gray and Ralph Froyd Gray, sisters, Edna Rosalie Gray and Florence Maybelle Gray, daughter-in-law, Glenda Jean Whitton and grandson, Trent Avery Whitton.

For many years, Viva attended the First Assembly of God in Port Arthur, TX. Prior to her passing she was attending the First Assembly of God in Jones Creek, Texas. Viva was a quiet, gracious and loving woman of God. She was a homemaker who loved her family so very much and always put their needs before her own. She loved God first, her family, her dogs, reading and crocheting.
