Vivian Gilmore Jones

SHREVEPORT, LA -- Funeral services for Vivian LaVerne Jones, 76, will be held at Woodland Hills Baptist Church, Monday, October 16, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. Officiating will be Brother Michael Scott pastor of Woodland Hills Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent Avenue.

The family will receive friends at Rose-Neath's Southside Funeral Home, Sunday, October 15, 2006 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Mrs. Jones was born December 11, 1929 in Pitkin, LA. She passed away Friday, October 13, 2006 in Shreveport, LA after a lengthy illness. Vivian was a loving mother and grandmother. Anyone that knew Vivian, loved her. Throughout her battle with cancer, she held on to her Christian faith and taught us all to do the same. Among her hobbies was quilting, times spent traveling and serving the Lord. Her travels now have taken her to her Heavenly mansion.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Henry Gilmore and James Jones; her son, Ronnie Gilmore; her parents and her brother, Houston Gillespie.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her daughter, Geneva Randolph and husband, Ross; her sister, Martha Williamson and husband, Hershell; her brothers, Ray Gillespie and wife, Delores, and Larry Gillespie and wife, Eloise; her grandchildren, Angela Rouse and husband, Wayne, Kasey Cochran and husband, Keith, Allen Randolph, Justin Bryant and Dustie Bryant; and her great-grandchildren, Jaylon, Makayla, Sheila and Braiden, Hannah, Angela Grace and Bella Faith.

Pallbearers will be Justin Bryant, Allen Randolph, Matt Power, Gary Bryant, Michael Rouse, Keith Cochran and Donnie Gillespie.
