Mrs. Vivian Myrtrice Wilkerson Huckaby (Gaar)

Funeral services for Mrs. Vivian Myrtrice Wilkerson Huckaby were held at Hodge Baptist Church on Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at 10 a.m. Officiating was Bro. Dewayne Boudreaux and Dr. Clovis Sturdivant. Interment followed at Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery in North Hodge, LA.

Mrs. Vivian Myrtrice Wilkerson Huckaby was born on October 31, 1917 in Sikes, LA and met the Lord on Sunday. June 19, 2005 at 12:45 p.m. She died after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

She was preceded in death by our father, Ordez Huckaby; her parents, James Willis Wilkerson and wife Alaphair Taylor; and a brother, Harlan Wilkerson.

Survivors include two daughters, Shelba Walsworth and husband Odis of Quitman, LA; Shirley Walker and husband Dr. James Martin of Fayetteville, AR; and son, James Terry Huckaby, a retired Army Command Sergeant Major and wife Georgina of Kempner, TX; six grandchildren, Melinda Kay Garrett, Robert Odis Walsworth, III, Jim Walker, Kim Walker, James Terry Huckaby Junior, April Carabin; five great grandchildren, Charles David (Chase) Garrett, II, SPC4 of the Jonesboro National Guard stationed in Bagdad, Iraq, Robert Railey and wife Nicole Garrett, Ty Garrett, James Tyler and Arron Luis Carabin of Corpus Christi, TX; sister, Mary Virginia Feger of Winnfield; two brothers, Glyn David La Rue Wilkerson and wife Helen of Highlands, TX, and Phillip Kennyon Wilkerson and wife Corrine of Winnfield. LA

Pallbearers were Robert Odis Walsworth, III, Charles David Garrett (Chuck), Robert Railey Garrett, Canton Ty Garrett, Randal Harrington, and Doug Stokes. Honorary pallbearers were the Deacons of Hodge Baptist Church.

The family wishes to express a sincere thanks for their prayers, concern, and deep acts of love and kindness during their mother's illness. A special thanks of kindness to Health South, Lincoln General Hospital and staffs for caring for mothet in such a loving way. May God Bless each of you!
