Vivian Willis Jarnigan
Services for Vivian Willis Jarnigan will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2003, in the chapel of White Oaks Funeral Home with Revs. Alfred Kennedy and B.G. Dyess officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home of Oakdale.
Mrs. Jarnigan, 79, of Oakdale, passed away Monday, Sept. 1, 2003, in the Allen Oaks Nursing Home.
Vivian was a retired assistant manager of the Calcasieu Marine National Bank of Oakdale and, as a young lady, went to work there on Jan. 1, 1948, and continued working until her retirement on Dec. 31, 1983. She was a graduate of Oakdale High School, a member of the First Baptist Church of Oakdale and a member of the Eastern Star and Ladies Auxiliary. She also was a member of the Four Winds Cherokee Confederacy and her Indian name was Rising Sun. She was a published gospel song writer and enjoyed Southern gospel quartet singing.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Glynn Jarnigan her father, Harry Willis her mother, Parthena Willis Willis two brothers, James Wade and Arnold Willis and her niece, Jean LeAnne Willis.
Survivors include two brothers, Harry Grant Willis of Oakdale and Osborne Ray "Tiny" Willis of Gainesville, Fla., and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers for her service will be Kurt Doyle, Kevin Doyle, Dewey Diboll, Val Willis, Scott Willis and Mike Bond.
Friends may call from 8 a.m. until time of services at 3 p.m. today in the chapel.
