Vonnie S. Moore
Vonnie passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital in New Braunfels. He was 83 years old.
Vonnie was born to Clyde and Versi (McNeil) Moore June 9, 1930 in Silsbee, Texas. He joined the U.S. Army and served in Korea during the Korean conflict. Vonnie married Jewell Dean Woodward November 8, 1950 in Liberty, Texas.
During his life, Vonnie accomplished many things: along with being a great father and husband, he officiated sporting events for five years in Pasadena, Texas, and helped start two companies: TEAM Inc. in Houston, Texas and KOPPLE & Company in California. He was a long time resident of Alvin, Texas, spending the last 20 years here in New Braunfels, Texas.
Vonnie leaves behind his loving wife of 63 years, Jewell Moore; and his son Michael Moore and his wife Kathleen. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren: Michael Paul Moore, Eric Moore and his wife René, David Moore and his wife Sharon, and Jerrod Cram, as well as his great-grandchildren: Quinton Moore and Colton Moore.
Vonnie was preceded in death by his daughter Melody Kresmery on November 21, 2005.
The family appreciates the wonderful medical care that Vonnie received from the physicians, nurses, therapists and other staff members who participated in his care. Special thanks go out to Lonnie and Patsy Carpenter for their loving care and support to his family throughout the years.
A private cremation service was held.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Vonnie's memory to the Humane Society New Braunfels Area.
