W. A. Womack

W. A. “Dub” Womack, 72, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation is today from 4-7 pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS and again from 10 am until 11 am Friday at St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Brandon. Services are 11 am Friday, January 18, 2008 at St. Mark's United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Newellton, Louisiana with full Military Honors.

Mr. Womack was a retired Senior Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force and served in Vietnam and Korea. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star. He was a charter member of the World War II Museum in New Orleans, Louisiana and also a member of the VFW.

Mr. Womack was retired from the United States Department of Labor, serving as Assistant Area Director of OSHA. He was last employed as Safety Director for Kinder Morgan in Gonzales, Louisiana. Following retirement he and his wife moved to Brandon, MS to be closer to their children. He was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Anita Womack; daughter, Daphne Womack Sigler and husband, Michael Sigler; granddaughters, Ashley Sigler and Emily Sigler all of Brandon, MS.

He was preceded in death by his parents, W. A. Womack and Martha Womack.

Mr. Womack is best remembered as a devoted family man and true Southern Gentleman. His life was consistent with his beliefs in God, church, family, and country.
