Wadley Blackman Sr.

Services for Wadley Blackman Sr. will be at 2 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with Dr. Henry C. Blount officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Pineville.

Blackman, 71, of Alexandria died at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in his home.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Alexandria. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and owner/operator of Blackman Laundry and Cleaners. He attended Riverside Military Academy and Louisiana College.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Alexandria Kiwanis Club for 45 years and a member of Oliver Lodge No. 84 F&AM.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine Jones Blackman of Alexandria; three sons, Wadley Blackman Jr., Richard Blackman and William Blackman, all of Alexandria; and one grandson.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church.
