Local Man Died Tuesday From A Heart Attack

Wade Ledbetter, 64, of Columbia, died Tuesday in a Monroe hospital following a very short illness.

Mr. Ledbetter was a painter by trade, and has lived in Columbia for many years.

He is reported to have had a heart attack early Tuesday morning here at his home and was rushed to a Monroe hospital for treatment. A second heart attack a few hours later claimed his life.

Funeral services was scheduled for 2:00 p.m. today (Thursday) from the chapel of Riser and Son Funeral Home in Columbia with the Rev. Billy Roark officiating.

Burial will be in the Columbia Hill [sic Heights Baptist Church] Cemetery.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Jewel Ledbetter of Columbia; a daughter, Mrs. Shelby Simons of Germany; a son, Jack R. Ledbetter of Hampton, Va.; three brothers, M. A. Ledbetter and Fonder Ledbetter both of Columbia and Henry Ledbetter of Charlotte, N.C.; four sisters, Flossie of Jackson, Miss.; Mrs. Grace Calk and Mrs. Hazel Beidenhorn, Shreveport, and Mrs. Bonnie Pearl Foreman of Dallas, Texas and six grandchildren.
