Wade Marther [sic Mather] Sanders

Wade Marther [sic Mather] Sanders, 73, of Huntsville, died Sunday at his residence. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Love Mausoleum with Robert Potts officiating.

Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens with Valhalla Funeral Home in charge.

Mr. Sanders, a veteran of World War II, was a member of the American Legion. He was a graduate of Louisiana Tech and attended the University of Alabama and Clemson University. He was retired from the Army Corp of Engineers with 30 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Amanda M. Sanders; three daughters, Linda Ramage of Atlanta; Wanda Sanders of Scottsboro and Mary M. Turner of Huntsville; two sons, Wade M. Sanders Jr. of Arab and Thomas H. Sanders of Huntsville; three sisters, Rosemary Baldrige of Shreveport, La., Day Heard of Minden, La., and Jean Barnett of Shreveport; two brothers, Will Ed Sanders of Minden and Wilbur Sanders of Atlanta; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity.

Mr. Wade Mather Sanders

HUNTSVILLE, AL - Mr. Wade Mather Sanders, age 73, died Sunday, February 27, 1994 at his residence. The funeral was Tuesday March 1, 1994 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love Mausoleum. Burial was in Valhalla Memory Gardens Cemetery with Valhalla Funeral Home in charge.

Mr. Sanders was born March 27, 1920 in Winn Parish, La. to Wm. Huffman and Maggie Gaar Sanders. He was a native of Ruston, La. and a longtime resident of Huntsville, Al. Mr. Sanders was a U. S. Army veteran of WWII and a member of the American Legion. He graduated from Louisiana Tech with a degree in Civil Engineering. He also attended the University of Alabama and Clemson University. He retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers with 30 years of service.

Survivors include his wife Amanda M. Sanders of Huntsville; three daughters Linda Ramage of Atlanta, Ga, Wanda Sanders of Scottsboro, and Mary Margaret Gaar Tuner of Huntsville; two sons Wade M. Sanders, Jr. of Arab, Al., and Thomas Huffman Sanders of Huntsville, Al.; six grandchildren and one great grandchild; three sisters Mrs. J.F. (Day) Heard of Minden, Mrs. W. W. (Rosemary) Baldridge and Mrs. Wendell H. (Gene) Barnett of Shreveport; two brothers Will Edd Sanders of Minden and Wilbur H. Sanders of Atlanta, Georgia; and three aunts Mrs. S. R. Aycock (Aunt Jimmie) of Ruston, Mrs. A. A. Brandh (Aunt Bernice) and Mrs. H.A. Sanders (Aunt Myrtle) of Shreveport.
