Wallace Nelson Freeman

Wallace Nelson Freeman, 63, of Summit died March 2, 2000, at his residence.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. Friday and continues from 8 a.m. Saturday until 10 a.m. services at Hartman Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. Tom Burris and the Rev. N. F. Greer will officiate. Burial will be in Johnston Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery.

Mr. Freeman was born June 24, 1936, in Lincoln County, the son of the late Hosie Pink Freeman and Lizzie Freeman of Summit.

He was a retired signalman for Illinois Central Gulf Railroad.

He was a Baptist. He was an avid hunter who loved the outdoors.

Mr. Freeman was preceded in death by his father; a sister, Virginia Worley; and a brother, Homer T. Freeman.

He is survived by his mother; a son, Greg Freeman and wife Cindi of Talladega, Ala.; a daughter, Deborah Temple of Meadville; three sisters, Kathleen Chunn, Louise Sistrunk and Nell Cox, all of Summit; a nephew, Mike McGuffee of Summit; and six grandchildren, Angel, Amber, Kattie, Taylor Nelson, Allison and Parker.

Pallbearers are Claude Reeves, Mike Nettles, Kenneth Oliver, Butch Boyd, Jimmy Dykes, W. A. ``Bear'' Travis and Lynn Freeman. Honorary pallbearers are Gordon Brumfield, Butch Case, Lanny Allred, Billy Ray Jones, James Allred, Lamar Wallace, Edwin Wallace and Bud Givens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Ministries, 224 S. First St., Brookhaven, MS.
