Walter Hill Daniel
Services for Walter Hill Daniel, 71, of 2311 Orange St. will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Hixson Bros. with the Revs. John Alley and David Boothe officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Daniel died at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday in Rapides General Hospital. He was a retired engineer with Texas Pacific Railroad and a native of Alexandria. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and its Fellowship Bible Class, the El Karubah Shrine, Alexandria Lodge No. 398 F&AM, and the J.T. Charnley Chapter No. 197, Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Dugger Daniel of Alexandria; one son, Charles W. Daniel of Lake Charles; one stepson, David C. Gaar of Monroe; one daughter, Gloria Daniel of Shreveport; two stepdaughters, Idella Wooley of Monroe and Margaret Coker of Hazelwood, Mo.; one brother, Jolly T. Daniel of Alexandria; and four sisters, Lockie Valley, Lula Smith and Minnie Craig, all of Alexandria, and Pearl Wing of Port Arthur, Texas.
Memorials may be made to the “Together We Build” fund at Calvary Baptist Church.
