Jack Kemper Rites to Be Held Today

Funeral services for Walter O. “Jack” Kemper, longtime employe of Newspaper Production Co., will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Osborn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Howard J. Johnson, pastor of the Central Christian Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Forest Park West Cemetery.

Mr. Kemper, 58, of 7325 University Drive, died in a local hospital Tuesday. He had been ill with pneumonia. A native of Leesville, Mr. Kemper had lived in Shreveport 26 years and was employed as a linotype operator upon moving here. He was a member of the International Typographical Union since 1932. He was a member of Danville Masonic Lodge No. 101 in Kilgore, Tex., and Central Christian Church.

Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Katie Simon Kemper, a speech therapist with the Caddo Parish School System; one daughter, Mrs. Lora Faye Coley, Shreveport; two brothers, Robert Kemper, Doyline, and Billy E. Kemper, San Bernardino, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Lake, Texarkana, Tex., Mrs. Inez Boehringer, San Francisco, Calif., Mrs. Jewel Allen, Baton Rouge, and Mrs. Helen Ballard, Kilgore, Tex.; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be W. M. Simon, Milton Doughty, Dewitt Cooper, Dubois Simmons, Leroy Eagle and James Tolar.
