Emmons Funeral Plans Are Pending

Walter P. Emmons, 61, of 3501 Seventh street, died suddenly at his home Friday at 6:30 p.m. of a heart attack. A native of Shelby county, Mr. Emmons had lived in Port Arthur for 20 years. He was an employee of the Gulf refinery and a member of the Church of Christ.

Funeral services will probably be held at Grammier's chapel Tuesday evening. Arrangements are incomplete pending word from a son in California.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Emmy Emmons; two sons, Walter Emmons of the Navy, stationed in California and Beeman Emmons of the Army, stationed on the Marianas islands; five brothers, Rance Emmons of Jasper, Henderson Emmons of Dallas, Emmett Emmons of Austin, Leland Emmons of Aiken and Mart Emmons of Port Arthur; two sisters, Mrs. Allie Yarbrough of Grigsby and Mrs. Frances Whitton of Port Arthur; and three grandchildren.

EMMONS RITES HELD

Funeral services for Walter P. Emmons, 61, of 3S01 11th street who died Friday, were held today at 2 p.m. in Grammier's chapel. T. B. Underwood, minister of the Eleventh Street Church of Christ conducted the services. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial park.
