Walter Emmons

Walter Emmons, 73, of 4231 Lakeshore Drive, died at 10:24 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Hospital.

He was a native of Center and a Port Arthur resident for 56 years. He retired from Texaco where he worked in the marine department. He was a former partner with Emmons and Roll Real Estate, and a member of the Port Arthur Lions Club. He was a veteran of World War II, during which he served in the U.S. Navy.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Nunnelly-Stanley Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Rick Lanning officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Survivors include his wife, Choyce Emmons of Port Arthur; a daughter, Barbara Linscomb of Port Arthur; a son, Stephen Emmons of Aspen, Colo.; a brother, Beeman Emmons of Port Arthur; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
