W. S. CULPEPPER RITES ARE HELD

Funeral Of Former Prominent Businessman Conducted Tuesday

The funeral of W. S. Culpepper, prominent business man here for years, who died at 112 Texas avenue Monday, was held in the Hixson Brothers funeral chapel Tuesday at 3 p.m., with Rev. James T. Horton, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment was in Riverview Burial Park.

Active pallbearers were: J. S. Drew, Richard Drew, Joe Williamson, James Wyatt, Dr. F. C. Shelton, and Fred Culpepper, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers were: R. W. Germany, D. L. Ethridge, Jr., Louis Buckner, W. J. Bynum and B. S. Braswell.

Mr. Culpepper was a member of the First Baptist Church; served as vice-president of the Southern Grocery Company, now the Ritchie; was connected with the Monroe member of Knights of Pythias and was also a mason.

He leaves his wife; a son, Dr. W. S. Culpepper, Jr., New Orleans; a daughter, Mrs. Morton Braswell, Shreveport; a brother, Fred Culpepper; three sisters, Mrs. Annie Blackwell, Lake Charles; Mrs. W. L. Brewster, Monroe, and Mrs. Mamie Marshall, Good Pine, La.; and five grandchildren.
