Wanda Ailene Ivie
September 16, 1921 - January 20, 2012

Wanda Ailene Ivie, age 90, of Stover, died early Friday morning, January 20, 2012, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.

She was born September 16, 1921, in Eccles, West Virginia, a daughter of Lemuel G. Sr., and Wavie Jane Wiseman Ballard. On August 3, 1939, in Parisburg, Virginia, Wanda was united in marriage to William David Ivie, who preceded her in death March 7, 1990. Wanda was a homemaker, busy raising her five children. She was also employed with the FAA in Kansas City, Missouri for many years.

In 1983, the Ivies moved from their home in Kansas City to the Stover community. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, knitting and painting.

Survivors include her five children and their spouses, Lemuel “Bart” and Renate Ivie of Sorrento, Florida; Linda Lou and James Lenz of Eudora, Kansas; Michael Wayne and Dixie Ivie of Stover; David C. and Phyllis Ivie of Stover and Leta Jane and Mike Plack of Texas; one brother, Lowell “Boyd” and Tibbie Ballard of Independence; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, George Lee Ballard and L.G. Ballard, Jr., and one sister, Lois Myra Keller.

In keeping with her wishes, she will be cremated. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
