Ward D. Allen Funeral Today

Last rites for Ward D. Allen, 74, of 1606 Evergreen St., were in the Cypress Baptist Church at 3 p.m. today with the Revs. Lonnie Swann and George Bonner officiating.

Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Monroe.

Mr. Allen died Sunday afternoon in Glenwood Hospital in West Monroe following a short illness.

Pallbearers were Travis Hamilton, Melvin B[l]akeney and Roger Blakeney, Gary Hamilton, W. O. Parker and Talmadge Allen.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Corine Allen, West Monroe; a son, Cecil D. Allen, West Monroe; a daughter, Mrs. W. C. Martin, West Monroe; and five grandchildren.
