SHREVEPORT - Warren “Wedge” D. Broussard died Sunday. Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Broadmoor Baptist Church, Shreveport. Burial will be at Douglas Cemetery, near Choudrant, under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Ruston.

SHREVEPORT, LA -- Funeral services for Warren D. “Wedge” Broussard, age 74, of Shreveport, Louisiana will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 6, 2005 at Broadmoor Baptist Church Chapel in Shreveport, Louisiana under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Dr. Scott Tatum. The graveside service will follow at Douglas Cemetery, near Choudrant, at 2:00 p.m.

Mr. Broussard was born in Alexandria, LA and passed away in Choudrant, LA on Sunday, October 2, 2005. He was a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana and was a member of the Gideon Sunday School Class. Mr. Broussard was a Graduate of Louisiana Tech University in 1956 and a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He was a Registered Professional Engineer and served as a past president of the Louisiana Engineering Society and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Mr. Broussard served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was very active in many organizations associated with his children. He worked nine years at Texas Eastern and twenty three years at Western Electric/AT&T.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Patricia Loyd Broussard of Shreveport, LA; daughter, Suzanne Broussard Sims and husband Jay of Fort Worth TX; son Dr. David Randolph Broussard of Williamsburg, Virginia; grandson Braden Matthew Sims; nieces Carol Broussard Loar of Kemp, TX, Shaye Broussard Rainwater of Hurst, TX, and numerous cousins and many friends.

Visitation will be held at Broadmoor Baptist Church in the Parlor in Shreveport, Louisiana from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, October 5, 2005.

Active pallbearers for the service will be Clif Peabody, Roy Craft, Bo Boyd, Bunkie Bryant, Dr. Sam Maxey, and John Webb. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Harper, John Loar, Rick Rainwater, Bob Bass, John Trigg, Ray Fomby, M. K. Woolbert, Jr. and the Broadmoor Baptist Church Gideon Sunday School class.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shreveport Rescue Mission, the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home, or the Foreign Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention.
