He was 85 years old.

Mr. Arledge was a native of Vossburg, but had lived in Pascagoula and Gautier for several years.

He was a graduate of Mississippi State University in Starkville with a degree in civil engineering, and worked in Wayne County with the United States Soil Conservation Agency for several years.

His work, for many years thereafter, took him over much of the Western part of the United States constructing microwave towers.

He also worked with Michael Baker Engineers Construction on the Mississippi Gulf Coast building canals and waterways for electrical and chemical companies.

He retired and made his home in Pascagoula with his wife until her death, and when Hurricane Katrina destroyed his home in 2005, he moved to Gautier where he passed away recently.

He was married to Jeane Martin Arledge, who preceded him in death in 1998. He leaves behind two sisters-in-law, Mrs. J. C. Arledge and Mrs. Marjorie Martin Giles, and several nieces and nephews
