THE DEATH OF A FAITHFUL OLD SOLDIER.
Many friends and relatives will be grieved to learn of the death of Mr. W. G. Coxwell. He passed away from this world of sin and sorrow to a happy world on high where God will drive away all suffering and tears. Mr. Coxwell was 77 years old. It is supposed that Mr. Coxwell was living with his 4th or 5th wife. He and his wife lived a happy life together but God saw fit for him and called him away. He left his blessed wife on the 26th day of July. Oh, what a lonely home, there is a vacant spot in that home which never can be filled. He "truly gone but not forgotten." Mr. Coxwell will be missed by everybody. He will be missed in the churches and Mason lodges and by his many friends and relatives, but Mr. Coxwell made his departure from this world last Saturday. His body was laid to rest at Bradley cemetery. Funeral services were held by Bro. Stephenson. We extend our sympathy to the bereaved family. He was indeed a loving husband and father. A shining star in their home. May the bereaved one[s] remember he is still shining in his home above. May the memories of him lead us nearer God's throne where we will meet him bye and bye. Where there is no sickness, suffering, sighing or crying, where God will wipe all tears from the eyes of those who are faithful and trust in Him.
Mr. Coxwell lived just long enough to see all his children together once more. His son that has been to France came in Thursday before Mr. Coxwell passed away Saturday following. Mr. Coxwell had a sweet wife and a pleasant home. Oh, it was indeed hard for her to part with him but we must not weep for God on high knows best. Mr. Coxwell leaves a wife and children and twenty-three grandchildren to mourn his death. Also a host of friends and relatives. Hope that his wife and children will realize that God saw fit for him and took hime [sic him] away out of his troubles. He is living with the Holy Father above, where there will never be any more parting. Mr. Coxwell had not an enemy in the world, I don't suppose. He was highly praised by everybody and every[one] dearly loved old Uncle Wash Coxwell. May the blessings of God rest and abide upon the remainder of the family hence forth and forever. We extend our sympathy to his blessed and lonesome wife.
Written by a loving cousin and true friend of Mr. Coxwell.
