Wayne Darren Staggs

EASTLAND - Wayne Darren ``Dan'' Staggs, 69, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 1998.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Daugherty Street Church of Christ with Larry Roberts and Cornell Hensley officiating. Burial will be in Eastland City Cemetery by Edwards Funeral Home.

Mr. Staggs was born in Tillman County, Okla. He attended ACU and Oklahoma University Pharmacy School. He owned and operated drugstores in Littlefield, Amarillo and Ruidoso, N.M.

He married Dovie Fay Taylor in 1950. They moved to Eastland in 1985 and were the owners and operators of KEAS radio station.

Mr. Staggs was a member of Daugherty Street Church of Christ. He was active in several civic organizations such as the chamber of commerce. He was a charter member of Eastland County Crimestoppers.

Survivors include his wife; four children, Lynn Staggs of Lubbock, Ron Staggs and Cliff Staggs, both of Aiken, S.C., and Elisha Bayless of Eastland; his mother, Mopaul Staggs of Haskell, Okla.; a brother, Brant Staggs of Haskell, Okla.; a sister, Sharon Cook of Sayville, N.Y.; and 12 grandchildren.

The family requests memorials be to the Christian Service Center c/o Daugherty Street Church of Christ.

Wayne Staggs

EASTLAND (Special) -- Services for Wayne Darren Staggs, 69, of Eastland will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Daugherty St. Church of Christ with Larry Roberts and Cornell Hensley officiating.

Staggs died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 1998, in Abilene.

He was born Dec. 23, 1928, in Tillman County, Okla. He attended Abilene Christian University and Oklahoma University Pharmacy School. He married Dovie Fay Taylor on June 5, 1950. He moved to Eastland in 1985. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was involved in the Chamber of Commerce, and he was a charter member of the Eastland County Crimestoppers.

He owned drug stores in Littlefield, Ruidoso, N.M., and Amarillo. He owned KEAS radio station in Eastland.
