DEETER, Wayne Ruel, passed on December 27, 2006, in Santa Cruz, Calif., after a brief illness.
He is survived by his wife Catherine, sons Bruce and Alan, daughter Susan Murphy, brother John Deeter, sister Toni Marcos, four grandchildren Christopher, Briana, MacKenzie and Joshua and numerous nieces and nephews.
Born in Burkburnett, Texas, he grew up in Hollywood, Calif., joined the Air Force during World War II, and spent 17 years in Saudi Arabia after the war. His love of travel and adventure took him to Kenya where he hunted and owned a ranch. On his return to the States the family moved to Lancaster and he was involved in real estate sales and construction. In 1982, he and Cathy lived onboard a sailboat and cruised extensively through the Caribbean, Mexico and California. Settling in San Diego. His varied interests included computers, sailing, fishing and reading.
A celebration of his life is planned for January 13, 2007, in San Marcos, Calif.
