Attorney Dies In Church at Jonesboro

JONESBORO, April 20 (Special) Wayne Stovall, 54, prominent local attorney, died today at 11:40 a.m. while attending Sunday services at the First Methodist Church here.

The former Jackson Parish assistant district attorney had been in ill health for several years. Attending physicians said death was due to natural causes. The body is at Edwards [sic Edmonds] Funeral Chapel.

A graduate of Tulane law school, Mr. Stovall was born in Dodson in Winn Parish, and had lived in Jonesboro for over 28 years.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Jonesboro Methodist Church with the Rev. G. W. Dameron officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Survivors are his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Ray J. Hill of San Marcus, Tex.; and a brother, Hugh W. Stovall of Dodson.
