WEBBER E. TISDALE
MERRITT ISLAND

Webber E. Tisdale passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2008 at 9:40 a.m. in the company of his wife, children and grandchildren.

Webber was born on March 26, 1928 in Jones County, MS. Webber served 21 proud years as a member of the U.S. Navy until his retirement in 1968 as a Chief Electronics Technician.

In 1968 he moved his family to Merritt Island to work at Kennedy Space Center. He was employed by Bendix Field Engineering/Allied Signal, and later worked with Jet Propulsion Laboratories in California until his retirement in 1986. Webber was instrumental in the formation of the Merritt Island Lassie League Softball Association in the summer of 1970. His volunteer activities included: MI Little League President, Chief Umpire, Concessions Chairman, MI Lassie League President, Concessions Chairman, and Equipment Chairman, Merritt Island High School Band Parents Concessions Chairman and President of the band parents association. Most of all he enjoyed being coach of all the extracurricular activities for his children. Recently Webber was a member of the Merritt Island Moose Lodge, and a regular mall walker at Merritt Square Mall.

He was a dear friend to many, helping with computers, electrical appliances, automotive, or whatever. He didn't know how to say no, just accepted everything as a personal challenge. His knowledge and interest in computers encouraged his children who followed his path in so many ways.

Webber is survived by his wife, Myrtle; his five children, Richard, Wanda, Barbara, Denny, and Charles and their spouses; his twelve grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren, and more great-grandchildren on the way.

A visitation will be held on Monday, August 25, 2008 from 6-8 p.m. at Brevard Memorial Funeral Home, with a funeral service on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Mr. Tisdale's memory to the American Cancer Society.
