Wendell O. Harris

OSCEOLA -- Wendell O. Harris, 81, retired grocer and employee with Osceola Foods, died of cancer Sunday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Osceola. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, where he was a member and deacon, with burial in Mississippi County Memorial Gardens. Roller-Swift Funeral Home has charge. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a 50-year Mason.

Mr. Harris, the widower of Margaret Harris, leaves three daughters, Judy Saunders of Arlington, Texas, Marilyn Baker of Osceola and Janet Kelly of Carlisle; two sons, Ken Harris of Blytheville and Donnie Harris of Mena; five sisters, Bessie Gardner and Ruby Watson, both of Dexter, Mo., Velma James of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Dorothy Pattengill of Charleston, Mo., and Faye Jaeger of Missouri; two brothers, Lindell Harris of Abilene, Texas, and Jack Harris of Acworth, Ga., six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
