Wert K. Dean

ODESSA, Texas -- Wert K. Dean, 62, of Odessa, died Friday afternoon at Sayre, Okla., in an oil field accident. As welder supervisor, he was checking a well, and while climbing on the oil rig, it gave way causing him to fall to his death. He was a native of Winn Parish.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Southern Home Funeral Chapel in Winnfield. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories, with Masonic graveside rites.

Survivors include his wife, Mavis P. Dean of Odessa; two sons, Billy Dean of Odessa; two sons, Billy Dean of San Diego, Calif., and Ronald Dean of Midland; one brother, Stanley Dean of Orlando, Fla.; and four grandchildren.

Mr. Dean was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Levelland, Texas, and the Kingdom Avenue Baptist Church of Odessa, Texas.
