Wilbur Sanders Retires from GSA Position

Wilbur H. Sanders, a native of Ruston, retired June 30 from his position as deputy commissioner of the United States General Service Administration (GSA).

He is the son of Maggie Gaar Sanders of 209 Everett St. in Ruston.

Sanders who received his degree in civil engineering from Louisiana Tech in 1939 has served with the GSA since 1956. He received the Exceptional Service Award for Leadership and Outstanding Personal Contribution to Public Buildings Service Operation, the GSA's highest award.

Sanders now lives in Atlanta, Ga. with his wife and son and daughter.
