Services for Willard Roy McMullen, age 81 of Columbia will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, January 15, 2007 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Chuck Stapleton officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Union Cemetery west of Grayson.
Mr. McMullen, a.k.a. ``Tom Dooley'' was born on February 22, 1925 in Caldwell Parish to the union of Cloyd and Maggie Coates McMullen and died Saturday, January 13, 2007 at his residence.
He was a retired machine operator with Olin Kraft in West Monroe and a veteran of World War II having served in the Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wives: Chlotile Head McMullen and Ethel Mae Oxner McMullen, his son: Jimmy Lee McMullen and his sister: Mildred M. Thompson.
Survivors include his companion: Mattie Armstrong of Columbia, his sons: Roy McMullen of Hebert, Ray McMullen and his wife: Paula of Columbia and Billy McMullen and his wife: Tori of Grayson, his daughter: Virginia M. Kelley of Grayson, his grandchildren: Curtis McMullen, Craig McMullen, Shane McMullen, Brannon McMullen, Justin McMullen, Cheryl Harper, Michaela McMullen and Dade McMullen, his great-grandchildren: Ronnie Harper and Chlotile ``Skeeter'' Harper and his great-great-granddaughter: Peyton Brooke Harper.
Pallbearers will be Glen Barnhill, Craig Honeycutt, Daniel Stapleton, Jimmy Stapleton, David May and Chad Antley.
Honorary pallbearers are James Strange, Waylon May, Eugene May, Everett May, Barry Johnson and Will Johnson.
Visitation will be Sunday from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. until time of services at Riser Funeral Home, 7131 Hwy 165, Columbia.
