Willena Temple Hall
NATCHEZ -- Services for Willena Temple Hall, 87, of Natchez, who died Friday, Nov. 19, 2004, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. James E. Herndon officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from 1 p.m. until service time Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hall was born Aug. 18, 1917, in Meadville, the daughter of Thomas Will and Eunis Whittington Temple.
``Nene'' as she was affectionately called by all her family, was a homemaker and known for her cooking, and raising her sons. She was active in Salem Primitive Baptist Church and loved following her boys to sporting events. she was a member of a large family and as one sister so aptly described her, ``She was our jewel.''
Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ollie Hall; nine brothers and sisters; and wonderful grandson, Dr. David Hall.
Survivors include sons, Bobby Gene Hall and wife, Joyce of Natchez and Billy Joe ``B.J.'' Hall and wife, Carole of Madison; grandchildren, Shannon Allen of Dauphine Island, Ala. and Kim Davis of Clinton; step grandchildren, Jerry Ainsworth of Madison and Jebb Ainsworth of Wichita, Kan.; great grandchildren, Bowen Allen, Austin Allen, Daniele Davis, Sidney Davis, Holly Hall, Matthew Hall, Emily Hall, Jerry Lee Ainsworth, Vivian Ainsworth, Laura Jean Ainsworth and John Ross Ainsworth; sisters, Velma Hancock of Zachery, La., Lucille Corbin of Reno, Nev. and Delores Ratcliff of Summitt including her closest friend and sister, Gladys Hall of Natchez; brother, Marzette Temple of Gonzales, La.; seven brothers and sisters-in-law including Shirley H. Rushing of Natchez; and over 100 nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be members of Jefferson Street United Methodist Church.
