William A. “Red” Hargrove

Mr. William A. “Red” Hargrove, 56, a resident of Franklinton died Wednesday at his residence.

He was a retired vocational agriculture teacher at Franklinton High School and a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church.

Mr. Hargrove is survived by his mother, Virginia Callahan Hargrove of Franklinton; his brother, Charles Lee Hargrove of Pensacola Beach, FL; and a devoted and caring friend, Velma Fortenberry of Franklinton.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles R. Hargrove.

Visitation was held at Crain Funeral Home from 5 pm until 9 pm Thursday and after 9 am Friday.

Funeral services were held at 2 pm Friday in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Spiller Milton officiating.

Burial followed in Fisher Cemetery.

An agricultural scholarship fund has been established in his memory at Franklinton High School and contributions can be made at the FHS Agriculture Department at #1 Demon Circle, Franklinton, LA 70438.

Active pallbearers for the service were B. Burris, Gilbert Hartzog, Robert Kuhn, Wayne Kuhn, Seth Fornea, and Sean Scallion.

Honorary pallbearers for the service were the teachers, principals, and supervisors, classmates and other friends.
