William A. Odom Jr.

Memorial services will be held on Sunday, April 30, 2000, at 2 p.m. in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for William A. Odom Jr., 86, who died on Monday, April 24, 2000, at 7:15 p.m. in the Amelia Manor Nursing Home in Lafayette.

The Rev. Monsignor Charles A. Mallet of Lafayette will conduct the memorial services.

Survivors include his wife, Haidee Redlich Odom of Crowley; two sons, Owen Odom and his wife, Margot of Crowley and Kenneth M. Odom and his wife, Donna of New York; five grandchildren, Eric Odom, Michael Odom, Patrick Odom, Kevin Odom and Timothy Odom; one sister, Marion Knight of Lafayette; one brother, Dr. James Odom of Lafayette. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, William R. Odom; and one brother, Troy Odom.

A native of Oakdale and a resident of Crowley for 18 years, Mr. Odom was the son of the late William A. Odom Sr. and the former Katy Nash, both natives of Allen Parish.

Prior to his retirement, Mr. Odom was employed by the State of Louisiana Child Welfare Department where he worked in the Support Enforcement Section. Formerly, he was employed by Continental Oil Co. and Treat-O-Lite Oil Treatment Co. Mr. Odom was a member of the St. Michael Catholic Community of Crowley. Visiting hours will be observed on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of services.
